Ilish Machher Plain Jhol.(Hilsa Fish Curry)



                                                             Ingredient : 

1) Ilish Fish -  5 pieces.

2) Mustard Oil - 3 Tbsp.

3) Turmeric powder - 11/2 Tsp.

4) Black Cumin  seeds( kalongi) - 1 Tsp.

5) Green chilly - 4-5 Nos.

6) Salt to taste.

7) Potato cute into half moon shape - 2 Small  Nos.


                                                         Method: 

1) Apply salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder into the ilish pieces and shallow fry them in mustard oil  till golden brown.Also fry the potato pieces with little bot of turmeric. keep it aside.

2) In a pan heat 2 tbsp of mustard oil , add about 1 tsp black cumin and let them crackle.

3)  Add 11/2 cup of water to it and add 1 tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste. Let the water come to a boil .

4) Add fried potato pieces and slit green chilly . Cover it and cook till potatoes are done. Then add fried ilish fish ,simmer it for 5 mins. Ilish macher jhol is ready to serve with steamed rice.
