1) Rui / Rohu Fish - 5-6 Pieces.
2) Onion Chopped - 2 ( Medium)
3) Ginger garlic Paste - 2 Tsp.
4) Tomato Puree - 2 (Medium)
5) Cashew nut - 1/4 Cup.
6) Cumin Seeds - 1/4 Tsp.
7) Bay Leaves - 2 nos.
8) Clove - 3 Nos.
9) Cardamom -2 Nos.
10) Turmeric Powder - 2 Tsp.
11) Red chilly Powder - 1 Tsp.
12) Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp.
13) Coriander Powder - 2-3 Tsp.
14) Garam Masala - 1 Tsp.
15) Mustard Oil - 1/2 Cup.
16) Salt to Taste.
17) Sugar - 2 Pinch
18) Coriander Leaves Chopped - 2 Tbsp.
19) Green Chilly - 2-3 Nos.
20) Water as Required.
Procedure :
1) Marinate the fish pieces with Turmeric powder and salt . Fry
the Fish pieces both side for 4-5 min. Keep aside.
2) Meanwhile make a paste of onion and Cashew nut .
3) Heat oil in a pan , temper the oil with cumin seeds, bay
leaves, cloves and crushed cardamom . Then add ginger garlic paste, fry
until rawness goes off add onion paste and tomato puree cook it 2-3 mins. Now
add turmeric powder, red chilly, cumin, coriander, salt and sugar. Fry the
masala mixing with few tsp of water. When the masala separated from the oil
add, slit green chili and 2 cups of warm water. Let the gravy come to a boil.
Now add the fried fish and garam masala .
4) Cover the pan and simmer for 10-15 mins. When the Gravy turn
semi dry ( makha-makha in Bengali) add chopped coriander leaves . Serve
hot with rice.
