Amish Dhokar Dalna .


Ingredient :

1) Chana dal (Slit Bengal Gram) : 250 Gm.

2) Fish egg ( Rohu/Katla) - 300 Gm.

3) Onion Finely chopped  - 3 Nos.

4) Ginger Paste - 2 Tsp.

5) Green Chilly Paste - 2 Tsp.

6) Red Chilly Powder - 1 Tsp.

7) Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 Tsp.

8) Coriander Seed Paste  - 2 Tsp.

9) Cumin Seed paste - 1 Tsp.

10) Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp.

11) Oil - 5 Tbsp. 

12) Ghee - 5 Tbsp.


13) Tomato Chopped - 2 Nos.

14) Garam masala - 1 Tsp.

15) Salt to Taste

16) Bay Leaf - 2 Nos.

17) Water as Required . 

Procedure : 

1)  Soak the Chana Dal overnight.  Drain the water and grind the dal to a smooth paste. Keep it Aside . Clean and wash the fish egg , drain the water from the egg very well. Mash the fish egg and mix with the dal paste. 

2) Heat oil and ghee in a pan add the  paste ( chana dal and fish egg) and chopped onion , green chilly paste  ginger paste  , red chilly powder , salt and turmeric. Fry on a low heat continuously stirring till the water get dried  and it comes clean from the side of the pan. Add little oil  if required.

3) Grease a round plat with little bit of ghee or oil. Spread the paste evenly .When it set down cut it into square or diamond shape and take them out. 

4) Heat some oil in a pan and fry this dhoka till they are golden brown in color. Keep it aside.

5)  Heat Ghee in a a pan add bay leaf, chopped onion, saute it for few mins add chopped tomato . cook it for sometime,then add red chilly , cumin, coriander and green chilly and ginger paste. Saute it for 5-6 mins , then add water and salt. Cover it with a lid in medium heat for 5-7 mins. When the gravy become little thick add the fried dhoka , simmer for few mins add ghee and garam masala powder. Serve hot with rice.
