Mach-Er- Do- Pyaza.


Ingredient :

1) Rui / Tilapia  Fish - 5- 6 Pieces.

2) Onion Chopped - 3-4 (Medium)

3) Garlic Cloves - 4-5 Nos.

4) Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp.

5) Coriander Powder -1 Tsp.

6) Cumin powder -  2-3 Tsp.

7) Red Chilly Powder - 1 Tsp.

8) Meat Masala - 2 Tsp. (optional)

9) Turmeric powder - 2 Tsp.

10) Salt to Taste.

11) Sugar - 1/2 Tsp.

12) Cinnamon - Few Pieces.(small)

13) Cardamon - 2-3 Nos.

14) Oil for Cooking and Fish Frying.

15) Coriander Leaves chopped - 2 Tbsp.

16) Water as Required.

Procedure : 

1) Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder and salt . Fry them in hot oil for 4-5 mins each side. Keep it aside.

2) Heat oil in a pan , temper the oil with cinnamon , cardamom and sugar. Then add chopped garlic and ginger paste. Saute until raw flavor goes off. Now add chopped onion, fry until it change color.

3) Now make a paste in 1/4 cup of water  mixing with turmeric, red chilly powder, cumin, coriander, meat masala and salt.  Now add the masala paste to the onion, mix it well and fry this masala in low flame for at least 5-7 mins.

4) When the masala leaves oil add 1.1/2 cup of warm water,let the gravy come to one boil, add the fried fish pieces. Lower the flame and cook for another 10-15 mins or till they turn dry ( not very dry/ well say it Makha-Makha (in Bengali).  Then add chopped coriander leaves, serve hot with plain rice.
